Rachel Mzhickteno is an Atlanta-based yoga and Pilates teacher focusing on overall mind/body wellness.

My Background

I’ve been physically active since I was a kid. I began swimming competitively when I was 8, and swam all through high school. In college, I turned to running, and ran faithfully for all 4 years of school. In my junior year of college, I found Bikram Yoga Lawrence, and decided to give it a try. I had no idea how badly I needed yoga in my life! I nearly died in my first class, but afterwards, I’d never felt so good. I had a renewed sense of physical health, and I experienced a huge relief from the stress and anxiety that had become a regular part of my college existence. I’ve been practicing ever since, and hope to maintain my therapeutic 26&2 practice for the rest of my life.
About 10 years into my 26&2 practice, I started experiencing pain in my hips, knees, and elbows. This was not yoga’s fault — I am hyper-mobil, and despite the pleas of several of my teachers, I never worked on correcting my hyper-mobility. Until I had to. Your body is always telling you what it needs, and when you’re ready to listen (or sometimes when you’re forced to listen) you can course-correct and make necessary changes. I added Inferno Hot Pilates and more Power Yoga into my wellness regimen, and I’ve never felt better. I truly believe that this trio of movement modalities is magical and can provide your body with overall wellness, both physically and mentally. These days you can catch me practicing and teaching all 3 types of classes in Atlanta!

Rachel teaches 26&2, Inferno Hot Pilates and Power Yoga

The 26&2 practice is the most therapeutic yoga practice for those seeking overall health and wellbeing. Practicing consistently will provide you with a freedom of movement and overall wellness that no other type of physical routine can provide.
Inferno Hot Pilates is simply FUN. It’s an invigorating high-intensity, low-impact class that is set to exciting music. The class flies by and is an incredible, sweaty workout. If you want fast results, an enjoyable class, and a transformational experience, this class is for you!
Power Yoga is a fast-paced style of yoga syncing movement to breath. Baptiste Power Yoga is a sequence, much like the 26&2 class, but it also allows for more freedom to change things up. If a Vinyasa style class is more your jam, this style of yoga will be more suitable for you!

“Rachel’s teaching is compassionate, energetic, and challenging, but you always leave the room feeling more loved and capable than when you arrived.”
